Search Engines are the super-encyclopaedias of the web. They help us find what we need to find quickly while also throwing up a list of other goodies that may or may not be of interest. Collectively, the first generation of search engines takes us in to Borges territory. God knows what the next generation will be like, or maybe s/he doesn't....
