The name given to the fictional third part of the duo formed by Lyndell
Brown and Charles Green and it refers to the colour formed by mixing their two
surnames. According to a joint statement issued in 1993 they are concerned with
"developing paintings of fictional worlds, forgeries, and recombinations using
photographs and details of cities and museums. All of these paintings incorporate
multiple references from the museums and streets of the cities in which we have worked.
We wished from the start of this project to paint metaphors of interior light and the
acquisition of knowledge, endpoints in the line of Modern visions of the city, and forged
additions to art history."
